The Nueva Vida Food Project

The Nueva Vida Food Project, part of the Matthew 25 movement of the PCUSA, is a collaborative ministry of Glencliff Presbyterian Church, Iglesia Presbiteriana Nueva Vida, the Presbytery of Middle Tennessee, Nourish Food Bank in Murfreesboro, and Second Harvest Food Bank. The Food Project launched in December 2020 when a donated truckload of food was distributed to families within minutes. The need was so overwhelmingly evident that the Food Project was formed with only 2 people on staff. Since then, the Food Project’s staff and impact have grown dramatically! Currently, an estimated 500 families receive assistance from the Food Project each month, with each family eligible to receive a cart of food designed to feed a family of 4-5 for an entire week.
The Nueva Vida Food Project could not exist without the generous financial contributions of the presbytery and its churches and members, and the thousands of volunteer hours donated by so many people in our presbytery and the community.
We serve families out of Glencliff Presbyterian Church on:
Tuesdays from 4pm-7pm
Saturdays from 11am-3pm
We receive food shipments on:
Tuesdays from 9am-12pm
Fridays from 9am-12pm
Volunteers are needed and welcome for all shifts. No matter if you work one shift or many, we are grateful to include you in this important work to feed those with food insecurity.
If you would like to serve with us as a volunteer, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Renee Kasman, at glencliff@nourishfoodbanks.org. If you would like more information about the Food Project or would like to host a food drive to benefit the Nueva Vida Food Project, contact Evelyn Graham, Executive Director, at evelyn@nourishfoodbanks.org.
