Dear Middle Tennessee Presbytery Ministers and Elders,
As you know, our Middle Tennessee Presbytery has a vital, long-term partnership with the Presbytery of Peten in northern Guatemala, one of the poorest areas in the world. Both of us have been able to go on recent medical mission trips there with fellow Presbyterians from middle Tennessee and we've witnessed first-hand how essential this partnership is and how much God is moving among the people and the churches there. On behalf of our presbytery's Guatemala Task Force, we ask for your financial support for our colleagues in Guatemala. With both the drought and social turmoil there, the circumstances are even more difficult. With no salary and farming impacted, those Presbyterian pastors in Guatemala rely greatly on our giving. This money will support their transportation to meetings or visiting people in the city clinics and hospitals, books for training, and other pastoral expenses.
Our normal pattern is to give $240 a year to each pastor. If you can donate that amount, that is wonderful. But please know that any amount is greatly appreciated, and rest assured that your contribution will be put to good, faithful service. Please let us know if you can give and what you will give so we can pass on the information to the Guatemala Task Force.
