The Leadership Visioning Team, charged with helping us through our Presbytery wide discernment process as we move forward in searching for our next installed EP and setting our initiatives and goals needs your help. Every voice is important in the team’s work. To that end, the team has asked each session to respond to three questions by February 1:
1)What are the things that being part of a presbytery provides your congregation that are most important to you?
2)What are the ways that your church has participated in ‘being part of the presbytery’ that you have valued?
3)What are ways that the presbytery could better assist you in being the Church in your particular community at this particular time in history?
If you are serving a session, check with your moderator, clerk, and/or pastor for details on submitting those responses.

Our first quarterly Stated Meeting is upon us—we will gather as the Presbytery on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at First, Shelbyville. The meeting will convene at 8:30 am and is scheduled to adjourn around 1:00 pm. Sessions should elect the number of commissioners provided by the 2025 parity schedule, which is available in the filing cabinet of the PMT website. Any individual may attend the meeting, but only commissioners will have voice and vote. This meeting’s agenda is very full, with many committees bringing important recommendations and reports. We will install our new Moderator and Vice Moderator, vote on proposed amendments to the Book of Order, and participate in another listening session with our Visioning Team. The energy and excitement around the last listening session left everyone looking forward to this one! Every attendee, whether a commissioner or not, has voice during the listening session. Watch for the call and the packet, which is scheduled to go out Friday, January 24. This meeting will not include lunch, and childcare will not be provided. |

We learned with regret of the death of the Rev. Bill Barger on December 25, 2024. We give thanksgiving for his ministry, which included three decades of service at First Dickson and Ellis Grove as well as work with the Eastminster AC and other PMT committees, commissions, and initiatives. A memorial is scheduled for March 21, 2025 at First Dickson. |
